Fome Beach

This is a small beach with only 122 meters long, divided into two sections by the rocks of the coast, there is a smart and reserved beach, which enchants for its cozy cove of calm and clear waters. The scenery is completed by a colonial style mansion, ranches, fishermen's boats, trees that provide great shade and two streams. It is said that its name originated from stories of starving castaways who ended up there. Beyond in the nineteenth century, the beach would had housed a fattening farm of slaves came from Africa.

 

A beautiful scenery and good "stories" are waiting for visitors who want to know more about the caiçara lifestyle. Access can be made by the trail, approximately 1h40, from neighboring Jabaquara or by sea. The Praia da Fome is 17.7 km from Perequê Pier.
