Ponta Azeda Beach

Frequented by locals and travelers, the coastline with almost 200 meters is located between Pinto and Sino beaches. Hidden by private properties, it is accessed by an easement or the surrounding beaches. The sea is calm, good for sports, like the others stretches at the north of the São Sebastião channel. It is not very busy, and then there is not structure of kiosks and restaurants. The pier at the right end is good for fishing. This beach is home to a fishermen's ranch and one of the last salts on the Paulist coast – it was there that the handmade production of salted and dried fish was made. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the period of whaling, it was called Praia do Rabo Azedo. From the 1950s, it lost part of its original name. It is 11.2 km from the ferry to the north and offers a small public parking.
